Glint Privacy Policy

Effective October 5, 2026 · Last updated October 5, 2026

In one sentence

Glint does not collect any data. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no third-party SDK. The app makes no network requests.

Screen Recording permission

macOS requires the Screen Recording permission for any app that takes screenshots, so Glint asks for it the first time you capture. What Glint sees of your screen is used only to produce the screenshot you asked for. It is processed in memory on your Mac and is never sent anywhere. You can revoke the permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording.

Where your screenshots go

Only where you send them: to the clipboard, to a folder you choose on your Mac, or pinned on your screen until you close them. Glint keeps no history and no copies of its own. The developer has no access to anything you capture.

Settings

Your preferences (the capture shortcut, the save folder and the image format) are stored on your Mac by macOS. To save into the folder you picked, Glint keeps a reference to that folder that only works on your Mac.

Network

The app contains no networking code. It does not communicate with any server and does not integrate any advertising or analytics service.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes its settings. Screenshots you saved are ordinary files in the folder you chose and stay there until you delete them.

Changes to this policy

If a future version introduces data behavior that needs explanation, this page will be updated first.
